...and the senator walks away

Not often do I come on here ranting about politics. When I do, it's usually something having to do with the most basic of rights being mangled up in front of us, or in the case of Sarah Palin, commenting about how idiots still manage to take office for no apparent reason whatsoever.

In this case, I feel that the more said about this, the better. It should matter in the debate process what his views are, but politics in general add so many shades of grey to anyone's particular view that it's increasingly hard to determine who the good and bad guys are in Washington. You may not agree with a politician out there, but sometimes you're disagreeing with someone who is truly standing up for you; one of the good guys. Even the best politicians out there can look really bad if one minor clause gets their approval. If there was a bill put forward with hundreds of miraculously good provisions but one clause happened to outlaw M&M's to get it, Americans would hate that guy for voting to ban M&M's.

Likewise, a person could have also voted on a bill that gave us a free bag of M&M's, yet proposed to force every woman into a virginity test before she could legally get married. Guess what we would hear for the next week from people like the nutcases at FOX News? We got a free bag of M&M's, and we should vote for him in 2012.

So politics are crazy. I like to bash FOX News because they're...nuts. MSNBC even tries to be insanely Democratic at times and still fails to live up to the standards of BS that FOX feeds us. It's has nothing to do with being left or right, it's about knowing who's nuts.

So, back to that hotlink I posted earlier, Senator David Vitter (R-LA) decided that, in the best interests of American democracy, it would look really good if he just ignored a rape victim trying to make a point. In fact, Senator Douche Vitter tried interrupting her every chance he got in an attempt to not-so-skillfully dodge the difficult question he was posed with. I've seen Al Franken, who isn't the most personable guy in the world, stand his ground and talk politics to an irate group of protesters and at least try to discuss the issues directly.

So in that video, I've seen that Senator Vitter, a guy voted on to handle tough questions, refuse to do his job. He's willing to ignore a rape victim desperate to plead her case so he can get to McDonalds faster, and he also doesn't seem to understand the English language, because he doesn't seem to hear what's being asked of him. In other words, Louisiana and America are paying a textbook asshole to make decisions in government that would easily lose an Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? competition. And I thought Palin was an embarrassment.

Right or left wing, there's no denying the douchebaggery here. Digg It Stumble it ! Reddit
